Today is my BIRTHDAY!! I have always felt that it is the one day of the year that you get to celebrate yourself, so I am doing that today. Receiving so many great birthday wishes on Facebook, text and email really makes you feel special. Google even put a fun little birthday thing on my search page today.
This past year I have been making sure that I focused on self-care, connecting with people that I haven’t seen for awhile and spending time with family. I will absolutely continue doing those things this year as well. Having my own business has been an adventure that I wouldn’t trade for the world. The flexibility of choosing what I work on and trying new things has been really amazing. I have learned a lot about what works for me and what doesn’t. I have watched my clients do great things this year and I am so happy for their success. Working on more corporate leadership engagements in the last few months has been a lot of fun too. Spending time with these great clients and helping their companies move forward in their transformations has been very rewarding for me.
I feel very lucky to have had the experiences that I have had and met so many great people along the way to bring me to this point. In one of my first coaching classes, they told us that we were going to change how we saw things and who we were as people as a result of coaching. I didn’t totally believe that at the time, but they were absolutely right. I have learned a lot about myself through coaching which was not something I ever expected to happen. One of the sayings that was shared with me was “when the student is ready the teacher will appear.” That has been so true as I have connected with so many “teachers” along the way and learned something new. Watching my clients have these “aha” moments as they are going through some of the transformation that I went through has been so amazing.
