Monday Morning Leadership Q&A – 5/7/2018

Client Question: “I am so busy each week but I am not spending time on my goals. I need help staying accountable to what I need to focus on.  What can I do to be better at this?”
One of the best ways to do this is to share what you want to focus on with a friend or co-worker.  Ask them to hold you accountable to ensure that you are doing what you said you wanted to do.  You could also hold them accountable for what they want to focus on too. This doesn’t have to be a difficult thing in the world of technology that we have available.  All you need to do is share what you want to keep track of and how often you want to be held accountable.  Here are some ideas to try:
  • Send a quick text and ask them how they did today
  • Send an email and ask them to respond with an update
  • Have a quick call on the way home from work focused on the topic
The outcome you want regardless of how you do it is for you to move yourself forward towards your goal and if you haven’t done anything yet, to be reminded to do it now.  It is a win-win for you and your accountability partner to help each other move forward on your goals.
