What value do you bring?
What was your first thought when you read that question? Most likely something to the effect of…I know I add value, but I need some time to think about it. I am asking you to come up with this answer and know it without hesitation.
Why? If you don’t know your value then how can you own your value, talk about it and show it to others? The truth is you can’t…at least in a way that will make people notice you.
Spend some time answering these questions:
- How are you adding value to the work that you do?
- What value do you bring to your department and/or organization?
- How do you add value to your team or other leaders in the company?
- What are you doing for yourself to increase your value?
Take your answers and reflect on what you have to offer. How can use this information in conversations with others so they can see more of your value?
