What is More Important to You?

Continuing on the theme of yesterday’s post of investing in yourself, have you thought about how much you actually do it?  My mastermind group is always good about asking me what am I doing for me in the midst of everything else I am involved in.  It is something that I need to be intentional about so that I ensure it is happening.
Investing in yourself needs to be a primary focus.  It is about giving yourself some time away from working that will help open you up and give you new perspective.  How you choose to do this is up to you. It may be as simple as sitting down to read a book that you have been meaning to read, going to the gym, going to a movie, museum or concert.  It can also be more elaborate such as experiencing something that is on your bucket list.
You may be asking “how do these things help me invest in myself?”  They give you time away where you can relax, meet new people, turn your brain off from work and recharge your batteries. They help you take care of yourself and enjoy the life you have. The stress that you feel in your life takes so much more out of you than you realize.  Doing things that take you out of it even for a little while will help build your resilience to deal with the stress in the long run.
Ensure that you are making yourself a priority and not the last one on your list.  Doing this will not only be beneficial for you, but it will also set a great example for your family and your co-workers.  Make yourself a list of things that you have been meaning to do and get them on the calendar. You are worth it!
