3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Visibility Today

Are you ready to take some action today?

It’s time to get off the sidelines and get into the visibility game. There is a huge misconception that creating visibility for yourself is a lot of work. That is 100% untrue. Here are some simple ideas to try so you can see that it only takes intention and consistency to show a new side of you to others. 

  1. Create a visibility partnership – find someone who you can partner up with to give you visibility and you do the same for them. Talk about the things that they are doing and have them do it for you. Whoever speaks up in a meeting first, calls out to the other one to share their thoughts instead of letting someone else have the floor.       
  2. Ask a question – I remember the panic of trying to come up with a question in meetings that I could ask and it would make an impact. What I should have done was had those questions ready to go before I got there. Create a list of five questions that you can ask in any meeting. If you struggle to come up with your own, listen to what senior leaders ask and capture them to use in future meetings.    
  3. Breaking news – While you are getting ready for work or on your commute if you go into the office, think about an update that you can share today. Here are some examples: a key decision that was made, a project risk or issue to share along with a solution, a team member update, a client note of appreciation to you, a problem that you have solved, etc. The goal is to have it ready so you don’t have to think about it when you are in conversation. 

These ideas are pretty simple, right?

They aren’t hard to execute, but they do require some thinking or planning in advance and a little bit of courage on your part. Your visibility is worth the extra effort!  Pick one of these ideas and try it out today. Let me know how it goes and reach out if you need my help!
