Hope you are having the best holiday week! Did you find some opportunities to laugh through the moments that didn’t go just as expected? Believe me I had some of my own, but on the whole this year felt different for me. I delegated to everyone in the house to help and played to their strengths on the things that they are good at and enjoy doing! It was much more fun for everyone.
In a few days it will be 2025! Hard to believe that we are at the end of the year right now. Doesn’t it seem like time just flies by once you reach a certain age? It went so slowly when we were young and now it seems like it move so quickly.
This may be the time of year that you start to think about what you want to accomplish in the next year. I recorded a podcast called Planning Your 2025 that will be coming out on Thursday, January 2nd! In the podcast I share an easy way to think about a plan for yourself if you want to create an amazing year. Here is a preview of some of what I shared on the podcast! 😉
Steps to create a list of ideas for an amazing 2025!Â
- Take out a piece of paper and write down the following question at the top:Â What do I want to accomplish by the end of 2025?
- Let me give you a permission slip here…you absolutely deserve whatever you want to have in your life. Travel, money, happiness, a career that you want to get out of bed for, family, friends, experiences…whatever you want.
- Set a timer for five minutes and write down as many ideas as you can think of in that timeframe. No filtering of ideas allowed! 😀 No telling yourself that you can’t do it because you don’t have the money, or you have all these other things you need to do. Simply capture the ideas.
- Do this 5 minute approach for four more days in a row. This process of doing it multiple days allows new ideas to show up for you! Again, no filtering!
- Now look at your hopefully long list and figure out which one should come first. What would make you so incredibly happy if you had that one thing happen for you? I want you to prioritize as best you can, but nothing gets crossed off the list. Pick the three that you want to move forward with for right now. The list will always be there and you can keep adding to it!
Action Plan:
State the goal in the present tense as if it is already happening.
I am taking a trip to Belgium in April 2025.
What outcome do you want to achieve. Writing it down helps the goal become real and shows you are serious about accomplishing it.
I want to create a great experience that gives us time to see all the places in Belgium that we want to see and allows time for us to not be rushed.
Do you need help from other people to achieve the goal?
I will talk to my daughter about where she would like to visit and create an itinerary for us to follow. We will need to make reservations and talk to others who have been there about their advice too.
What process will you follow each week/month that allows you to review your goals on a consistent basis?
I will check in at the beginning of each month on the action plan to ensure we have done everything we need to do to be ready for the trip.
Repeat this process for your other two goals now. That’s it! Now you have your goal planning in place! You can update with new goals as you accomplish the previous goals.
I hope you can see that this is a quick and easy approach to coming up with a list and then turning a few of those ideas into actions! Just know that the list is always there to add to and update whenever you want!
If you need my help to make your goals a reality! Reach out and set up time to talk about how we can make that happen! At a minimum, I will share some resources to help you and we can connect! https://calendly.com/susanmbarbercoaching/30min
Let’s make 2025 an amazing year!
